Marcia Lee Laycock
I was raised on an island off the north shore of Lake Huron, ran away to Alaska and then the Yukon, had a road to Mayo conversion in 1982, leaped by faith into Briercrest Bible College with my husband in 1985 and landed in the promised land of central Alberta in 1988. I've also had the privilege of living a few miles south of the Arctic Circle (Dawson City Yukon) and a couple of degrees south of the equator (Papua New Guinea). I suppose that's why my writing is steeped in the imagery of winter with the odd palm tree thrown in. For the past thirty some years, I've been a pastor's wife, mother of three girls, caretaker of two dogs, two cats and sundry fish, and oh, yes, a freelance writer. The writing began in the attic of my parent's house where I wrote stories for my dolls. None of them complained, so I kept it up. The Lord has abundantly blessed, challenged, rebuked, healed and restored me through the process of writing and being involved with writers. I now have two award-winning novels in print as well as three devotional books. My ebooks are available on www.smashwords.com and some on Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc. I am honored to have served on the executive of Inscribe Christian Writers Fellowship, been a long-time member of The Word Guild and American Christian Fiction Writers, and been privileged to teach for some of these groups. I am also a sought-after speaker for women's retreats and one day events. I have spoken widely for Stonecroft Ministries. Please contact me for available dates and topics.

Alex Tomalty is a Red Deer County Resident who has been raised in a strong Christian home and who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and is a proud Jesus Freak! Alex has a passion for video games and a specific passion for a certain video game series, Sonic the Hedgehog. Being raised in a house that had already started the video game adventuring with an older brother helped him start his journey into the fun world of video games. Then came the moment a Nintendo controller was placed in his little 5 year old hands and he started playing Super Mario Bros. It was that moment when he started to build a passion for something as fun and popular as video gaming! Born in 1990 and living the '90s he was exposed to a ton of games. The 1990's was the debut era of Sonic the Hedgehog, it was just a matter of time before he played Sonic and became more interested in it, and today he's a huge fan. Still lovin' his Mario too though! Alex's two biggest passions in the world are Jesus and Sonic/video games but he always has Jesus first. It's like how Willie Robertson said in the movie "God's Not Dead", he said everything on this world is temporary. "My passion for video games and other things I like are temporary, they're just things I do to keep myself busy while waiting for Jesus to call me home to eternity." Alex started writing movie/game reviews for Country Sunrise News when the Guy & Angela Tayler asked him if he wanted to help them get a Teens page started. He's an avid movie goer and plays games frequently, so he decided to give it a try and created the "World of Teens"section in the paper for movie & game reviews and also for fun news articles that teens or anyone could make use of. "A dream of mine would be to become a Promotional Representative for Nintendo of Canada," says Alex. I hope you enjoy our World of Teens section and hope you find Alex's reviews helpful in making good movie viewing choices. It's important these days to do your research before taking your children to the movies as we believe that the rating system can be deceiving! Movies that are now rated Parental Guidance (PG) can contain profanity, sexuality and crude content that may not be suitable for your children.
